Who runs this site

My Mini Garden is a personal hobby website run by The Learning Gardener. For any question about your personal data, please use the contact form.

What I collect and why

Contact form: when you send a message, the name, email address and message you enter are sent to me by email so I can reply. I use them only to answer you. (Legal basis: your request.)

Comments: when you leave a comment, the site stores your name, email address, website (optional), your comment and, automatically, your IP address and browser details. Your email address is never shown publicly. (Legal basis: your choice to comment.)

Spam protection: comments are checked for spam with Antispam Bee, which works on this website without sending your data to outside services. (Legal basis: the site’s legitimate interest in preventing spam.)

Visitor statistics: I use Koko Analytics to count page visits. It doesn’t use cookies, and the data stays on this website. (Legal basis: the site’s legitimate interest in understanding which pages are read.)

Cookies

This site doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies. If you tick “Save my name and email” when commenting, a cookie remembers your details for your next comment. The site owner’s login also uses cookies.

Who else handles data

  • Messages from the contact form are delivered to a Gmail inbox (Google).
  • The website is hosted by Namecheap (EasyWP), whose servers may keep standard technical logs.
  • These providers may store data outside the EU, including in the USA.
  • Fonts are loaded from this website itself, not from outside services.

How long I keep data

  • Contact messages: kept for up to 1 year, then deleted.
  • Comments: kept for as long as they’re published on the site, or until you ask me to remove them.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, limit or object to how it’s used, or receive a copy of it, by writing to me through the contact form. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority. In Cyprus, that’s the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.

Changes to this policy

If I change how this site handles data (for example, by adding a new feature), I’ll update this page. Last updated: 6 October 2026.
